Codex Desktop
Codex Desktop is the desktop entry for OpenAI Codex. It is useful for AI agent collaboration through a graphical interface, including coding, building, delivery work, code understanding, documentation, and task collaboration.
Tip
Codex Desktop and Codex CLI share .codex/config.toml and .codex/auth.json. Desktop usually does not need a separate configuration if the shared .codex directory has already been written correctly.
Recommended Entry
- Windows users: use AI Tool Auto Installer first.
- If the installer does not apply: use CC Switch Quick Config.
- For manual configuration: follow the
.codexsteps in Codex CLI.
Verification
- Codex Desktop can complete a simple chat, code understanding, or task collaboration request.
- The Qiuqiu Token console shows the corresponding usage.
- The app does not repeatedly ask for login, and you do not need a separate Desktop-only configuration.
FAQ
- Login keeps appearing: check the shared
.codexconfiguration through the installer, CC Switch, or Codex CLI guide. - CLI works but Desktop does not: fully quit and restart Desktop, then confirm that
.codexis in the current user directory. - No usage in the console: confirm that the request was actually sent from Desktop and did not fail locally.
- UI language is not suitable: adjust the language option in Codex Desktop settings.
